NSW: Police car hit during chase of armed robbers
Two men are in custody and police are still searching for a third following an armed
robbery in Sydney's south-east last night.
Police say a group of balaclava-clad men armed with a gun entered a hotel in Curtin
Crescent, Maroubra, at about 9pm (AEST).
The men stole an undisclosed sum of cash before escaping through the hotel's bottle shop.
The group then fled the scene in a Holden Commodore utility.
A police spokesman says about 45 minutes later, the vehicle came to the attention of
police in the Kingsford area.
Police pursued the vehicle which they allege crossed to the wrong side of the road
during the chase, crashing into a police support vehicle in Gardner Rd, Mascot.
The vehicle was not involved in the pursuit and one police officer was taken to hospital
with minor injuries after the crash.
Police say the dog squad and PolAir are assisting in the search for the remaining man.
