Qld: Teachers meet with minister
Queensland teachers will meet with Education Minister ANNA BLIGH today in a bid toresolve a pay dispute.
Teachers are seeking an eight per cent annual pay rise and improvements in class sizesand resources.
The government's offered a 3.5 per cent annual pay rise.
Over the past seven months, teachers have implemented work bans and a number of schoolshave held stop work meetings during class hours.
One school has pledged to hold an all-day stoppage if an agreement cannot be reached.
The next stop work meetings are scheduled for Thursday.
Teachers' union and government representatives will report on progress to the QueenslandIndustrial Relations Commission tomorrow.
