VIC: Virgin eyes Essendon airport = 2

"It's really a matter for the federal government but we would not be supporting the
use of Essendon airport," Mr Thwaites said.

"And we don't believe that the federal government would either because of the safety
and noise issues."

Mr Thwaites denied the situation would damage Victoria's hopes of housing the Australian
headquarters of Virgin when they begin competing on the domestic market in July.
